Packing List

Everyone has packed for a vacation of one to three weeks and the destination has probably always been the same temperature during that time . But what do you actually pack when you go away for at least a year and do all the seasons there. We give you tips! First of all, you should keep in mind that there are also shopping opportunities in the USA. The mall will probably be a focal point for you and your friends anyway, and shopping one of your favorite pastimes. So the thick parka can stay home for the winter and you really focus on clothes you really need for the time of year you’re going. You don’t need 20 pairs of shoes and 10 bags either.  

Clothes

• some t-shirts and tops
• 2-3 pairs of jeans
• 2-3 shorts or skirts
• maybe 1 – 2 summer dresses
• socks
• underwear
• 1 pair of sneakers, 1 pair of other shoes, e.g. for going out
• Sweater for cold evenings
• 1 – 2 thin jackets, they simply complete the outfit
• sportswear
• sports shoes
• Bikini/Tankini/Swimsuit

Of course, the content of your suitcase depends on what you are carrying. Of course, if you never wear jeans, you don’t have to pack any. But keep in mind that you have the children around you all day and sometimes food flies around. It is therefore better to leave your favorite items in the closet during working hours. You will receive pocket money of $195.75 per week. It is absolutely possible to buy something new in between or to prepare for winter.

Of course you have to take the important documents like visa and passport with you. It is best to create a folder with all the important documents so that you always have everything together. Remember that you don’t have to overload your suitcase with large shampoo bottles. All you have to do is get through the first few days of the workshop and then you can buy new shampoo etc. when you go to your host family. You will live in the US for a year or even longer. You will buy things and possibly have excess baggage after your stay. That’s why you should really only pack the essentials for your trip.
